Help me make a Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen costume for Halloween
Hey guys! I found this forum while looking for ideas for replica costumes, and I was hoping you could help me with a costume I’m making.
In honor of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, my 17-year-old wants to dress up as Katniss Everdeen for Halloween. I’ve looked around online, but most of the outfits are pretty expensive, and unfortunately, I can’t spend that much.
I already have a black catsuit/jumpsuit that I think could work as a base. It’s from a Catgirl costume she wore last year. I’m planning to remove the cat ears, eyes, and tail and hopefully turn it into something closer to Katniss’s outfit.
What do you guys think I should add or make to get it as close to Katniss’s costume as possible? I’d really appreciate any ideas, especially from anyone who has made a Katniss costume before.
Also, is there a Hunger Games logo pin or mockingjay-style pin that I could buy and add to the costume?

If the hood is removable, you can remove it as well. You can use a normal black belt around the waist and get a back sheath belt holder for around $10 to $15 on eBay. You can also buy a bow and arrow for around $30, and yes, you’ll be able to put together a decent costume.

No, actually, the hood is kind of attached to the suit, so if I remove it, it’ll create a weird shape at the back.
