Is It Better to Own a Perfect Costume Replica or an Original Piece Used in the Actual Movie?
There’s something pretty special about owning a costume or jacket from a movie you love. But I’ve always wondered which would actually mean more to people: owning a perfect replica that looks exactly like what was seen on screen, or owning the actual piece that was used in the movie.

The original obviously has the history behind it. Knowing an actor actually wore it during filming is something a replica can never really reproduce.
But a really good replica has its own appeal too. You can wear it, take it to conventions, use it for Halloween, and enjoy all the details without worrying about damaging a piece of movie history.
So if you had the choice between the two, which would you take?
Would the fact that the original was actually used in the movie make it an easy choice, even if it had some wear and wasn't in perfect condition? Or would you rather have a replica that looks exactly like the costume did on screen and that you can actually wear?
Curious to see where everyone stands on this one.

I’d take the original, even if it wasn’t in perfect condition. Knowing an actor actually wore it while filming would be the part that makes it special to me.
