If you could only choose one for your wardrobe, would you go with a classic leather jacket or a suede jacket?
Both have their strengths. Leather has that classic, durable feel, while suede has a softer and more relaxed look.

Why not both? I wear leather in the colder months and switch to suede in spring and early fall. They don't really compete with each other in my wardrobe.
Suede, honestly. Leather can look a bit try-hard unless you really pull it off. Suede feels more relaxed, and a tan one with jeans and a white tee is about as easy as it gets.
Quick question for the suede folks: how do you keep it clean? I've got a nice brown one but I'm almost scared to wear it out in case I spill something on it. Do protector sprays actually work or is that just marketing?
My dad had a black leather jacket from the 80s that I inherited, and it's still going strong. Can't say I've ever seen a suede jacket last 40 years. Durability wins it for me.
Leather for nights out, suede for daytime. Suede in a bar just feels wrong to me, but that might just be me lol.
I used to be firmly in the leather camp until I tried on a suede trucker jacket on a whim. The fit and the softness completely changed my mind. Still keeping my leather one, but the suede gets way more wear these days.
Depends a lot on your style too. If you dress more rugged or workwear-ish, suede blends in perfectly. If you lean more toward a clean or edgy look, leather makes more sense. There's no wrong answer, just what suits you.

Leather, but it took me forever to break it in. It was stiff as cardboard for the first couple of months. Totally worth it now though, it fits like it was made for me.
Has anyone tried the faux versions of either? I'm trying to avoid real animal products and I'm curious whether vegan leather or faux suede holds up, or if it all starts peeling after a year.
@hannah_price Yeah, I bought a faux jacket about 3 years ago, and it still looks really good. It’s just a little tight on me now. Either I’ve gained some weight, or maybe the jacket has shrunk a bit over time 😂

I don’t wear it regularly because, honestly, I’m scared I might ruin it, but yes, I do wear it occasionally! 😂

Leather all the way for me. I live somewhere it rains half the year and my suede jacket got ruined the first time I got caught in a downpour. Leather just shrugs it off and looks better the more beat up it gets.
